Morrison Custom Welding is proud to be an ODOT Certified welding facility, certified to weld on Ohio Department of Transportation projects.
The Department of Transportation sets rules, standards & guidelines for welding, which the state of Ohio interprets and enforces for welders working in the transportation sector.
In order to work on transportation projects such as building or repairing steel bridges, welders must pass a DOT welding test to be certified on the specific type of weld to be used. These certifications help ensure that jobs are performed correctly in order to avoid a tragedy, such as bridge collapse, due to improper welds.
In the interest of public safety, ODOT certified welders must pass either the American Welding Society (AWS) or the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) Certified Welder Program.
